Expo 2019 Beijing improves access

Expo 2019 Beijing has received over 5 million visitors over its first 100 days, and organizers are preparing for an even busier summer season.

The park is making a few changes to bring more convenience to incoming visitors: taxis, which previously were barred from entering a controlled area around the park, can now drop off passengers right in front of the gates; more free shuttles are added to take people between gates and parking lots; motorists can directly reach the park gates during designated hours; and the park has drawn out bicycle parking spaces near its entrances.

Organizers are also encouraging people to visit during the evenings to avoid crowds and the summer heat. Tickets purchased for evening visits can be used the next day.

Meanwhile, expo authority has launched an official mobile app, providing information on ticketing, traffic, tourist hotspots, activities and events, as well as other park services. The app utilizes interactive technologies such as AR and VR for better immersion in its user experience.
